CS Foundation exam is the entry stage to become a Company Secretary. CS Foundation syllabus consist of four papers.

Paper-1: Business Environment and Law
Paper-2: Business Management, Ethics & Entrepreneurship
Paper-3: Business Economics
Paper-4: Fundamentals of Accounting and Auditing

Each paper carry 100 marks and a student shall score at least 40 marks in each paper and 200 marks in aggregate to clear the foundation exams. Study Materials issued by the Institute is sufficient for clearing foundation exams. Continue reading “CS Foundation Books to Refer”

With effect from 1st September, 2018 Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has launched New Syllabus of Professional Programme covering nine subjects / papers under three modules.

Students getting registered to Professional Programme during the period from 1st September, 2018 to 30th November, 2018, will be eligible for appearing in One Module (out of Three Modules) during June, 2019 Session. Financial, Treasury and Forex Management (FTFM) is a scoring paper in second module. FTFM gives almost equal weightage to the theory and practical problems. Third Module consist of Tax, Drafting and Optional Subject. In Tax, GST is the core area and it should be given proper attention. In Drafting, you should study both the theory/law and should be well versed in drafting resolutions, agreements and orders. You should practice writing the specimen resolutions and agreements from the study material. When it comes to optional subject, simply copy writing of contents from the material will not get you good marks. You should study the material to get an understanding of the topic and should present the answer in a manner which has the core of the topic but not as a replica of the study material.

Second Module consist of Information Technology, Financial Management and Ethics.  For ITSA, study material is sufficient for the exams. You may refer YouTube in understanding topics.  More effort should be given for financial management paper. Financial Management gives almost equal importance for theory and problems. Ethics paper is a vast subject, so reference should be made to the scanners/guideline answers too. It will help you to get an understanding in the method of presenting your answers.
